Q & A

Out Patient Drug Detox - Vicoden®, Hydrocodone, Heroin, Oxycodone, Oxycontin®, Painkillers, Methadone, Xanax®, Alcohol, Cocaine and Benzodiazepines

Why is this program different than being treated by an office based private physician that prescribes Suboxone® and other detox drugs?

Seeing a private physician for Suboxone treatment provides you only with a written prescription for the medication - and nothing else.  It only takes a physician 8 hours of training to be certified to prescribe Suboxone®, therefore most prescribers have little or no practical experience dealing with addiction medicine or the disease of addiction.  Also, there is very little instruction and counseling is usually not given.  At NBD you receive a host of services including psychosocial assessment, medical examination and assessment, weekly drug screens, telephone support, counseling sessions, and a whole clinical team managing your detox.  Most of our staff members are in long term recovery and are able to incorporate their vast knowledge and experience.

Why does the detox take 6-8 weeks?

A 6-8 week taper results in a "soft landing" that dramatically reduces the typical discomfort and withdrawal symptoms.  In many cases, patients report that discomfort was virtually  nonexistent. In many case a shorter length of time for a Suboxone® taper may be appropriate.  This may be the case for those they have had relatively brief episodes of opiate usage or the usage is at a low dose.

Will I need other types of medications?

Patients are prescribed safe and effective medications that quickly and virtually eliminate the symptoms of withdrawal, including anxiety, sleeplessness as well as debilitating aches and pains normally associated with drug withdrawal.

Why is Out-Patient counseling recommended?

Extensive experience indicates that detoxification alone only eliminates the drug usage or the "symptom" of the underlying problem.  The counseling establishes a baseline for a long term recovery process.  In other words, NBD begins to address the "why" of how you got to be an alcoholic or addict.  This is a critical step in learning how to live you life drug free.

How long are the Out-Patient Counseling program?

The Out-Patient Counseling program meets twice a week.  We offer patients the ability to attend the groups for up to a year during and after treatment at a nominal cost.

If I choose an Out-Patient Counseling program, is it done after the detox?

No, the Out-Patient Counseling runs concurrent with the detox.  This unique approach results in a much higher rate of success.

What happens after the counseling therapy program is over?

NBD offers an after-care program that consists of additional medications to reduce cravings, nutritional, supplements and continued individual and group counseling.  NBD also recommends patients continue to be engaged in the recovery process by attending 12 step programs and maintain a high degree of accountability.

How much do the detox programs cost?

NBD programs have variable components which varies the cost.  Just as everyone’s drug and alcohol dependency is different, so too is their treatment. The NBD programs are significantly less expensive than most “in patient” facilities.  We also offer cost effective "detox only" programs.   In just a few minutes we can outline the entire program and its cost.  There is no obligation, and if you are serious about living a “drug free” life give us a call at 877-338-6988. NBD counselors are always available to talk about a loved one, friend, relative, etc. and our conversations are confidential.

Or you can EMAIL us and you will receive a prompt response.

How often does the Out-Patient Counseling program meet?

The Out-Patient Counseling Program currently meets on Monday and Wednesday - 6:00 – 7:30 PM.

How is your program different than In-Patient treatment and In-Patient detoxification?

First, the programs are a fraction of the cost of most In-Patient treatment programs.  Most In-Patient detoxification units provide little or only a minimum amount of counseling with no follow up care.  In-Patient treatment programs teach recovery in a sheltered environment.  Upon completion, the newly recovered patient steps into the real word in a fragile state. In the NBD program, you detox in the real world, can continue to work or stay in school. In our group we primarily focus on Relapse Prevention and Early Recovery Tools.

Where are you located?

We are located at 1035 S State Rd 7 Suite 211. in the city of Wellington Florida.
