How it Works:

Intake Interview and Bio-psychosocial Assessment

A confidential interview is conducted by our Clinical Director who is a Certified Addiction Professional [CAP].  The NBD Program requirements, the various treatment options, and the fee structure are all discussed.  A preliminary assessment is also conducted and the patient is evaluated to determine if they are eligible for the Out-Patient Program.

Pre-Procedure Medical Evaluation

The detoxification process begins with all NBD patients receiving a complete medical history and physical examination. This may include a laboratory analysis and urine toxicology screen. Our doctors remain a part of the multi-disciplinary team that cares for the patient throughout detoxification 

Induction Phase - Beginning the Process of Detoxification

The Induction Phase is the medically monitored startup of therapy.  SUBOXONE® is prescribed when an opioid-dependent individual has abstained from using opioids for 16–24 hours and is in the early stages of opioid withdrawal.  Other medications may be prescribed at this time to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings, assist with sleep and reduce anxiety.

Stabilization Phase – Controlling the Cravings

The Stabilization Phase has begun when the patient no longer has cravings for opiates.

Taper Phase – Getting Free

The Taper Phase is reached when the patient is doing well on a steady dose of SUBOXONE®.  The patient is then stepped-down from the SUBOXONE® therapy until they are drug-free. The entire detox including the taper is typically over 6 weeks.

During the 6 Week Detoxification Period

Each patient will receive one-on-one and group counseling sessions with a Licensed Certified Addiction Counselor. There is also an optional 12-Step Primer Group and a Spirituality Group included in the cost.  Following the detoxification process, patients can attend an optional two weeks of Out-Patient Therapy and finally, there is an optional FREE 4-week Follow-Up Care group. All these sessions are designed to help the patient get their drug free life back together.
