METHADONE DETOX PROGRAM

New Beginnings Recovery Center (NBRC) offers an outpatient detox program for those dependant on methadone.  Since methadone is an opiate, we follow similar methods of detoxification as our Opiate Detox Program.  We have become specialists in methadone detoxification, for this drug presents it's own set of unique characteristics that make it a challenge to walk from.  Whether prescribed for pain or if you are enrolled in a maintenance program, NBRC can help you become free of this dependency.  We are licensed by the State of Florida to provide Adult and Adolescent Detoxification. 

Methadone detoxification is now much easier than you ever thought possible!

Detoxification from methadone poses additional issues that require an experienced and knowledgeable medical staff.  NBRC has the staff, knowledge, experience and ability to detox methadone patients on an Out-Patient basis at a faster rate and more comfortably than ever before.  Detoxification from methadone takes longer than from short acting opiates such as heroin, oxycodone, Vicodin® or Lorcet®.

Methadone Detoxification

Here are the some of the ways we manage methadone withdrawal symptoms and achieve your complete restoration:  

• If you are in a experiencing withdrawal symptoms when you come to our office, you are promptly medicated to address your symptoms
• The use of Suboxone® and Subutex® may be used to manage opiate cravings and withdrawal symptoms after the interim period
• We use medications to reduce insomnia, reduce constipation, reduce anxiety, reduce cramps, reduce nausea and reduce pain
• The use various amino acids to promotes neuro health that will ultimately reduce and shortens the Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS) period
• Other "off label" effective medications may be used for cravings
• We address what has been depleted in the body during the entire opiate usage episode with a highly targeted oral and injected vitamin and supplement regimen and to jump start the healing and promote overall well being
• We provide you with around the clock 7 day a week coaching and support by telephone, email and in our offices
• A highly effective optional program that includes individual and group therapy, recovery coaching and the use of post-detox medications reduce cravings and restore and promote healing.

How it Works:

A intake and assessment is conducted and the patient explained the NBRC program, the various treatment options, and the entire detox process is discussed. 

Pre-Procedure Medical Evaluation

The detoxification process begins with all NBD patients receiving a complete medical history and physical examination. This include a urine toxicology screen. Our doctors remain a part of the multi-disciplinary team that cares for the patient throughout detoxification 

Induction Phase - Beginning the Process of Detoxification

The Induction Phase is the medically monitored start up of detox. Interim medications are prescribed for a period of time initially to allow transition from methadone to Suboxone® without any discomfort.  After close monitoring, the patient is started on Suboxone®.  Other medications are prescribed at this time to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings, assist with sleep and reduce anxiety.

Stabilization Phase – Controlling the Cravings

The Stabilization Phase has begun when the patient no longer has cravings for opiates or any withdrawal symptoms.

Taper Phase – Getting Free

The Taper Phase is reached when the patient is stabilized on Suboxone®  The patient is then stepped-down from the Suboxone® therapy until they are drug-free.

The Post Acute Withdrawal Phase

The Taper Phase followed by the Post Acute Withdrawal Phase.  Suboxone® and other medications handle the "acute" symptoms during the Taper Phase.  After patients "jump off" Suboxone® or other symptom managing medications, different medications are introduced to manage the Post Acute Withdrawal Symptoms (PAWS).  NBRC utilizes a host of medications to address any remaining PAWS.  We also start patients on a regimen of various amino acids and vitamins during the Taper Phase to promote brain health and to prepare the brain for the ultimate event of stopping all forms of opiates and methadone.

OPTIONAL OUT-PATIENT COUNSELING THERAPY

Although support counseling is included in the cost of the detox, patients have the option to attend an optional outpatient counseling program while in detox run by a team of experienced licensed Certified Addiction Professionals. We offer several group therapy options that will fit any schedule.

Psychiatric Evaluation Included

NBRC offers a variety of Psychiatric Services from Evaluation and Follow Up Treatment. Psychiatric Services are utilized to treat patients with Dual Diagnosis Disorder, or Co-Occurring Disorder. Frequently mental health disorders can lie underneath and in some cases fuel substance dependency. Some of the therapies utilized include Psychotherapy, Bio-Feedback Therapy, Hypnosis Therapy and Medication Management

All patients enrolled in our programs, have the option for a no cost Psychiatric Evaluation performed by a Board Certified Psychiatric staff member in addition to the basic services of each program.  Ongoing Psychiatric Services are also an option for our patients.

So now those that have struggled with depression, anxiety or any other co-occurring disorder, have the opportunity to get the substance dependency and the underlying psychiatric issues treated concurrently.
