DETOX PROGRAMS INFO

Out-Patient Detox Programs Information
New Beginnings Detox offers several detoxification programs. Our programs are on and out-patient basis. In many cases, the out-patient protocol is in fact the best way to detoxify from your episode of alcohol or substance use. In some cases, it is the only comfortable way to detox. All programs require that you come to our clinic a minimum of one time per week. Longer detox cycles may indicate an "every 2 week cycle". In some cases, "Monthly" visits may be appropriate.
Factors to consider when choosing the right detox program:
- How quickly do I want (or need) to detox
- In some cases a longer detoxification cycles can result in lower relapse rates
- Brain receptor site damage from substance abuse and addiction occurs, and therefore slower detox rates allow for time for the brain to heal and "right itself"
- With opiate detoxification, studies show that lengthier vs. brief opiate treatment using Suboxone® results in higher rates of success

Detox Program for Opiates
The length of time of opiate detoxification is determined by assessing the patient's treatment goals and other factors. Typically, the detox can be completed in as little as 3-4 weeks, but in some cases a longer period of up to 12 weeks may be appropriate. Based on our extensive experience and studies recently published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), longer detoxification cycles have resulted in lower relapse rates. This is particularly true for young adults and adolescents. In such a case, we may recommend longer detoxification periods.
Suboxone® Treatment for Opiate Dependency
The use of Suboxone® is one option for the treatment of opiate dependency. This drug is an extremely effective tool for those that desire to be free from opiate dependency. At NBD, we also offer and Non-Suboxone® Accelerated Opiate Detox Program with the use of milder medications. Either way, NBD has helped 1000's of patients walk free from opiates. Detox Program for Alcohol
Medically supervised detoxification from alcohol can in fact be done on an out-patient basis. This level of care may not be appropriate for everyone. The patient must be able to be managed safely and comfortably without the risk of seizures or other problems. If the daily intake of alcohol is too much, in patient detoxification may be recommended. In many cases NBD can detox patients who previously only had the only option as hospitalization.
Benzodiazepine Cessation Program

Getting free from benzodiazepines can be a real challenge. NBD utilizes the Heather Ashton method of tapering patients off of benzodiazepine drugs. These drugs can wreak havoc in the lives of those who are dependant on them. This method is the only safe and reasonably comfortable way to break free. Although this method of tapering can be lengthy in some cases, one can now have hope that previously was not available. Whatever your case may be, benzodiazepine dependency can be a harrowing experience and coming off them a lengthy ordeal.
Methadone Detox Program
Detoxification from methadone poses additional problems that require an experienced and knowledgeable medical staff. NBD has the ability to detox methadone patients on an Out-Patient basis more comfortably than ever before. NBD treats many methadone dependant patients that fly in to have us treat them with our unique
Advanced Methadone Detox Protocol®. Since brain receptor site damage is even more
apparent with methadone addicted patients, we highly recommend the 12 week detox.
We can design and customize any existing detox protocol
to suit any individual's needs and time constraints. If
what you desire is not listed here, ask.
